Shop Donations

Your good quality items will directly fund patient and family care in the local community so thank you so much for thinking of St John’s Hospice with your donations.
There are several ways to donate:
  • Up to four bags or boxes can be brought into any of our shops while they are open.
  • Furniture can be collected for FREE by calling your local furniture shop: click here for details
  • St John’s Hospice uses the organisation: Boxmove to collect furniture so please be reassured if they arrive to collect your furniture
  • Did you know you can increase the value of your shop donations by 20% by gift aiding when you donate your goods?

Please note we are currently UNABLE to accept donations at our warehouse.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Please DO NOT leave donations outside our shops. These may be lost, damaged or stolen and donations left outside are considered fly tipping, which is an offence so you may find yourself fined, which you don't want, and we don't want for you!  Please keep donations safe at home until we are able to reopen for donations - thank you for your support with this.

Thank you for your custom, generous donations and support of St John’s Hospice.

Deciding what to donate....

We particularly welcome the following clean and saleable donations:

  • New, or nearly new clothing and shoes
  • Fancy frocks, suits and occasion wear
  • Bags e.g. handbags, rucksacks, briefcases and suitcases
  • Jewellery including costume jewellery (new or nearly new) and precious metal jewellery (even if it’s broken)
  • Homeware such as ornaments, vases & full crockery sets
  • Furniture e.g. sofas & beds with mattresses (with fore safety labels) dining sets and bedroom furniture
  • Complete gift sets

In short...

We’re fans of pre-loved but not so loved that it’s broken or out of shape!

Do keep donating good quality items. As always - just think before you give: if you wouldn’t give it onto a friend or relative, then it is probably something we would not be able to resell either. Thank you

No thank you...
