Trek 2026 – Great Wall of China Trek

This will be the 8th St John’s Hospice trek and our 10th year of trekking, returning to the site of our first ever trek: The Great Wall of China! 2026 will also celebrate the 40th anniversary of the opening of St John’s.

Join St John’s Hospice on an amazing fundraising trek to of the of new wonders of the world. This trek adventure is a wonderful opportunity to explore the history and culture of China while pushing yourself to new heights.
Along the trek you’ll be seeing different parts of the Great Wall – which stretches 6000km across the country. Along the way you’ll see watchtowers, battlements, ancient barracks as well as the villages, towns and cities that the wall passes as it zig zags across the stunning landscape.
You’ll have the chance to explore many of the places along the way with your trekking team mates, taking in the local customs and cuisine.
It’s a trek into the past to remember!

(You must be clear in all promotions that a percentage of your fundraising target is to cover the cost of the trip for yourself)

Challenge balance £1,996
Fundraising pledge £1,996

You pay the non-refundable Registration Fee of £299 to Global Adventure Challenges. 12 weeks before the challenge you will receive a reminder to pay the challenge balance of £1,996. This is in addition to the Registration Fee and is to be paid to GAC no later than 12 weeks prior to departure – 13th June 2026.

Trek 2025 – Spain Camino de Santiago Trek

Our adventure starts: 10th October 2025

Join us as we take on a classic european trek to support the work of St John's Hospice
Join us on a classic Camino de Santiago experience – trekking the last 100km of the famous Camino Frances (The French Way) section of the popular pilgrimage route. Trek across the green rolling landscapes of rural Galicia, meet fellow pilgrims, discover local traditions and enjoy the unique atmosphere – today the Camino is more than a pilgrimage but a remarkable journey and unique experience. Starting from Sarria, we trek for five days through charming villages, forests and rural countryside visiting many picturesque churches along the way. Our final destination is the magical Santiago Old Town, a wonderful UNESCO World Heritage site, home to the stunning Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela

Minimum Sponsorship £3,698

You raise the whole cost through fundraising efforts.
80% (£2,958.40) to be raised no later than 18th July 2025.
100% to be raised by 10th October 2025.

(You must be clear in all promotions that a percentage of your fundraising target is to cover the cost of the trip for yourself)

Option B – Self-Funding

£1,849 fundraising pledge
£1,849 cost of trip

Cost of trip paid directly to Global Adventure Challenges by 18th July 2025.
You also commit to raising £1,849, which is to be received by the charity no later than 10th October 2025.
